Acupuncture: 5,000 years of healing

Acupuncture is a therapy used to relieve pain, reduce blockage and eliminate illness in the body.  It causes the body to release endorphins that make it particularly effective in treating pain. Acupuncture affects sugar metabolism, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in the blood, and has a regulating effect on the endocrine system. Restoring balance in the biological and cellular processes of the body has countless benefits. Acupuncture is virtually painless- the needles are as thin as a human hair, and it leaves you feeling relaxed and recharged!

Meet Lisa

Lisa Ledbetter (L. Ac, Dipl. Ac.) has been a Nationally Certified, State Licensed Acupuncturist for over 20 years. She treats a variety of imbalances, including headaches (migraines, tension, sinus), digestive disorders, ob/gyn issues (including infertility, PMS, and menopause), and all types of pain related to arthritis and tendonitis. Lisa does a lot of work with patients suffering from symptoms of adrenal fatigue such as insomnia, anxiety and stress. She is able to break the cycle allowing the patient to sleep better at night and have more calm, focused energy throughout the day. Along with the many other imbalances she treats, Lisa has a great success in treating allergies and sinus problems. Treating the sinuses through acupuncture can help stimulate the immune system, increase energy, and break the cycle of repeated antibiotic use.

Lisa also believes strongly in the Chinese theory that “any imbalance in the body can be treated through change of diet”. As a result, Lisa does a lot of work tailoring a patient’s diet to help heal their specific condition. This gives the patient a way to take an active part in their healing process and is a great complement to the acupuncture to help the body heal from the inside out. Our body has amazing ability to heal itself, and with a little work we can all live an optimal life.

“My journey is pretty simple, I always knew I wanted to get into the healthcare field so I studied biology and anatomy in college. I was applying to physician assistant school when I had my first acupuncture treatment and never looked back.  I was having headaches and my mom suggested I go to her acupuncturist to get some relief. I fell in love with how the acupuncturist wanted to get to the root of my headaches and figure out exactly what was causing them rather than the Western medicine approach of trying different prescription drugs. I went to acupuncture school right after I graduated college and ended up interning with the acupuncturist I saw the very first time. I interned with her for a few years during school while also interning with an acupuncturist who had a more Japanese approach to treating the body. I carry both of their techniques with me to this day.”

“At my acupuncture clinic I practice traditional Oriental Medicine, a holistic medical system that has helped billions of people over the past 5,000 years. I use its time proven, effective and drug free methods to support your body’s natural healing process. I treat your symptoms as well as the underlying causes to improve your overall health. In addition to symptomatic relief you’ll feel an increase in vitality and overall sense of well being from your treatments.”

Testimonial

“My husband and I have both received acupuncture from Lisa Ledbetter for over 15 years. Lisa is very caring in her approach to help us strive to achieve optimal health through a variety of modalities including acupuncture, cupping, using a Chinese method to break up muscle congestion, and supplements. Over the years we’ve utilized Lisa’s expertise in Chinese medicine with her focus on acupuncture to support our overall well-being in a variety of ways including:

·       Removing our allergic response to animals and certain foods that we were very sensitive to

·       Supporting my adrenal function

·       Mitigating severe menstrual cramps to increase flow and decrease pain, all by working with my body, instead of taking pain killers

·       Helping me to heal from plantar fasciitis

·       Suggesting supplements to support overall health such as collagen for bones and ligaments; Chinese herbs for sinus congestion, bladder support, and a natural herb that can be a substitute for antibiotics in certain situations (that doesn’t kill the good bacteria in your gut like pharmaceutical antibiotics); and other high quality supplements

We highly recommend Lisa’s acumen and have continued to be her patients all these years.” -C.M. Lakewood, CO
